WHO WE ARE
A professional engineer and serial entrepreneur, Pazion brings over a decade of technical and strategic leadership experience to the table. He began his startup journey while leading a successful engineering career in the aviation industry. A strong advocate of social entrepreneurship, he believes technology can usher in societal transformation in Africa and beyond. At Orbit Health, he is responsible for leading the product development and execution of the company’s short and long term strategy, focusing on creating shareholder value. Pazion studied engineering at Seattle University. He lives in Seattle and Addis Ababa.
Girum has over 10 years of experience in website and we-based application development, marketing and project management. He has developed, sold and managed different projects for various governmental, non-governmental and business organizations. As a serial entrepreneur, Girum has founded/ co-founded two business in Ethiopia. previously he worked as a managing partner of Yesakor Technologies (www.yesakor.com) and Country Representative of Colvir Software Solutions (UK) (www.colvir.com) from where he brings an extensive international experience in bid preparations, marketing, and product demonstrations in Ethiopia, South Sudan, Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, Zambia and Tanzania. Girum holds MBA-IB from University of Greenwich, BSc in Organizational Management Leadership Institute and Diploma in Software Engineering from Microlink Information Technology College.
Dr. Abiy Sinke
Since 2010, Dr. Abiy has been serving as the executive director of the Ethiopian Medical Association. Dr. Abiy has been the Authorized Representative (AOR) of the USAID-supported Continuing Professional Development for Physicians, Health System Strengthening for Health Workers (CDC) project and others. Furthermore, Dr. Abiy has also contributed to the National Accreditation and Quality Improvement Standards for Medicine Degree Program, National In-service Training Implementation Guideline for Health Sector, Core Competencies on Leadership, Management, and Governance for Medical Students in Ethiopia, Health Systems Management Course Content Integration for Undergraduate Medical Students and other documents. Dr. Abiy has also authored and coauthored multiple research articles and abstracts and presented at the 49th Ethiopian Medical Association’s Annual Medical Conference (AMC) and at the 51st annual scientific conferences. He has been in clinical practice and public health work in the private, international organizations, and public sector and served as the medical director of the Israeli Embassy TB screening and Treatment clinic from 2001-2005. Dr. Abiy holds an M.D. from Jimma Institute of Health Sciences (now Jimma University) and an M.P.H. from Haramaya University in Ethiopia.
Chief Technology Officer
Robel serves as a senior technical developer and designer of the orbit backend system architecture, takes care of the application deployment both on the cloud and on the clients’ premises and actively develop the core of Orbithealth application domains Robel worked at Edge Computing PLC, as a Senior Mobile and Web Developer, where he was involved in WFP funded project called CATS. He also runs a tech startup called Victorshub Software Systems, where he has implemented various projects with different client such as CoCa-Cola, Africa Bottling company, JustPlam, Mercycorps and others. Robel holds Bsc. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Addis Ababa University, AAiT
Betsegaw is a software engineer at orbit health where he is involved in the full stack development of Orbit’s framework. In this capacity, he works with an agile team to develop, test and maintain web-based business application and refine integration between them. Prior to Orbit, he worked with Mercy IT Solutions as a web developer. He brings an extensive background in dot new framework, Java and Android development,front end development with AngularJS, and server-side development with Node.js, JSP and PHP. He holds a BSc in Computer Science from Microlink Information Technology Collage.
Henok is a software engineer at orbit health where he is involved in the full stack development of Orbit’s framework. In this capacity, he works with an agile team to develop, test and maintain web-based business application and refine integration between them. Prior to Orbit, he worked in various corporate roles where he played a significant role in the development of a file ordering system, gender information management system, customer relations system (CRM), fleet management ERP module, Budget management module, and E-meter application. He is proficient in .Net C#, Java, Type Script, PHP, JQuery, Distributed Systems RMI, Laravel, Angular, and SQL. Henok holds a BSc in Software Engineering from Adama Science and Technology University (ASTU).
Sintayehu is a software engineer at orbit health where he is involved in the full stack development of Orbit’s framework. In this capacity, he works with an agile team to develop, test and maintain web-based business application and refine integration between them. Prior to Orbit, he has worked on the development of power saving and intelligent car parking system, Nations Nationalities and Regions fleet management system. He brings an extensive background in .Net framework, Java, and Android development, frontend development with AngularJS and server side development with NodeJS, JSP and PHP. He holds a BSc in Information System from Adama Science and Technology University (ASTU) with a specialization Computer Engineering.
Global Business Development Manager
Kndeya manages global business development, stakeholder relationships, and grant proposal development at Orbit. He is also a current volunteer with UNDP in which capacity he remotely conducts desk research on factors affecting health investment cases in Sudan. Kndeya has previously co-founded Afrizip and Neolass, two Pan-African startups. Moreover, he brings an extensive biomedical research and healthcare data analytics background. Kndeya holds a BSc from Cornell University in Biological Science with a neuroscience concentration and business minor. He has also taken a wide range of courses on Data, Economics and Development.
Barsenet is prolific junior project manager at Orbit Health. In addition to liaising with the product development team on a regular basis, she is involved in client relationship management, capacity building and troubleshooting as problem arises. she brings a diverse set of backgrounds as a graphics designer, event organizer, co-host, software engineer, project manager, and content developer for different websites. Barsenet has a BSc in Software Engineering from Addis Ababa Institute of Technology (AAIT) and is currently pursuing a BA in Business Management from Bahirdar University through a distance program. She is highly proficient in Java, C++, PHP, Laravel and MYSQL.
Zekaryas is an intern at Orbit Health where he assists in the full stack development of Orbit’s framework. in this capacity, he works with an agile team too develop, test and maintain web-based business application and refine integration between them. He is currently finishing his studies at Addis Ababa University. He has several contributions on GitHub.
